Purpose:
Carry out his/her MSc project Main activities:
- Student majoring in Zoology to perform a survey on Culicidae species in Luxembourg.
- The candidate will investigate the prevalence and distribution of mosquitoes from various collection sites inside of Luxembourg.
- The project will involve sample collection, identification of species by morphological means, and thorough analysis of geographical distribution patterns.
- The goal of this project is to determine the endemicity, abundance and distribution of Culicidae species with regard to the emergence of infectious mosquito-borne diseases in Europe. Methoden:
Scientific competence, work experience and diploma:
- Undergraduate degree in Biology (Bachelor)
- A strong background in Zoology/Entomology as well as experience in morphological identification of insect species is required
- Rigor, motivated, scientific creativity and originality, writing skills, conciseness, sense of priority and sense of human relations
- Proficiency in English and good scientific writing skills are a must. Anfangsdatum: 1.
