1 PhD position
for the research group of Dr. Mike O. Karl.
Research in this laboratory focuses on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of neuronal de-velopment and regeneration of the retina. Particular emphasis will be given to reveal the roles of neuronal activity in the regulation of adult physiological and regenerative neurogenesis in the mouse hippocampus and retina, respectively.
The institute provides excellent facilities in cell culture, light-, confocal- and electron micros-copy, FACS, molecular biology, histology.
Applicants should have a background in developmental or cell biology and have some experi-ence in molecular biology. Additionally, candidates should have a strong motivation to work both independently and as a team member in a highly interactive and dynamic research envi-ronment.
