We invite applications for a PhD position in the laboratory of Prof. M. Zygmunt at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Greifswald.
We are focus on the molecular and cellular mechanisms of placental development. We are specifically interested to study the role of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells and novel vasculogenesis/angiogenesis-regulatory factors within the fetomaternal environment in placental vascular development.
The institute provides excellent facilities in cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, live cell imaging, FACS, molecular biology, histology, and functional proteomics and genomics.
We are looking for highly motivated applicants with a degree in biochemistry or biology (or related) who would like to be part of an interactive team. A strong interest in early developmental processes as well as a strong background in cell and molecular biology is required. Experience in primary cell culture techniques, cell analytics, microscopy, histology or stem cell biology would be an advantage. We offer excellent working conditions in a stimulating environment.
