PhD Student in Epigenetics,IMB Mainz,Germany

Applications are invited for PhD student positions in the recently established laboratory of Dr. Natalia Soshnikova (http://www.imb-mainz.de/research-at-imb/soshnikova/research/). The research group investigates chromatin functions and dynamics during the maintenance and differentiation of stem cells, as well as in cancer stem cells. To perform these studies we are applying genetic and biochemical approaches, including high-throughput technologies for characterization of chromatin and transcriptional states of purified cell populations from embryos or adult mice.

We are looking for
• Outstanding and highly motivated students who received or are about to receive Diploma/ M.Sc. degree in biology or biochemistry.
• A strong experience in molecular biology, biochemistry and histological techniques is a plus.
• Experience in computer programming is greatly appreciated.
• Inclination to work with animals (mice) and perform animal experiments is required.
• Good written and spoken English is necessary.
